Ari Herstand (Ari's Take)

Hi Ari First thanks so much for the good job you do i do appreciate.
My name is jurgen and i live in zimbabwe. I run a small Production company Zimbabwe is a stuck 20 years ago.In the Music Scene everyone is online but few even grasp (besides FB) the possibilities of the net. I have local superstars explaining to me how incredibly difficult it is for them to brake borders or get there music out there. They stuck in the believe that there is no way you can get paid royalties easy since we got used to no payment locally. I have been reading reviews on online distribution for time now. Your critics where the most helpful and believable. I am going to establish locally a service where musican can physically drop their music and we will process them online. I have been reading. once you sign to cd baby your youtube channel will be flagged even if its you own rights (Music or Video).and you lose money in the process and its difficult to lift that? What service would you suggest i use?

Hi Jurgen, only if you opt in for CD Baby's YouTube Royalty collection service will they collect YouTube royalties for you. You can still use them just for distribution to iTunes, Spotify, Deezer, etc. If you DO want them to collect YouTube royalties they will collect money from ALL videos on YouTube (yes, including your own) and they will keep 30% (70% to you). There are other services like Audiam or AdRev that just collect YouTube revenue for you. So you can use CD Baby for distribution and Audiam for YouTube collection, however CD Baby can do this just fine for you.
