What advice do you have for someone in the planning stages of their show? I'm a very shy person by nature, but love to perform. Yet I still have a hard time connecting with my audience.
Great question! It takes lots of practice to become comfortable with the audience. I'm a very outgoing person but still took me about 100 shows to become completely comfortable on stage.. not very inspiring, but true. Every show you get a bit more comfortable. You just have to play out as much as you can and force yourself into these uncomfortable situations. There are many super shy musicians who are incredible performers because they use their reserved style to connect on a truly deep level that audiences respond to very well. It takes lots of practice though.
Shoot me an email and we can talk more about this and I can give you specific pointers on how to really get more comfortable on and off stage with your audience. Give me some links to your sites and let me know what you've done so far and what you're looking to do. I can create a Get Specific program for you if you want. email@example.com
